Dragon Quest VIII - Journey of the Cursed King (Japanese: ドラゴンクエストVIII 空と海と大地と呪われし姫君) is a role-playing video game developed by Level-5 and published by Square Enix for the Nintendo 3DS. It is the eighth installment in the long-running Dragon Quest series, and the first to be released on a Nintendo handheld. The game follows the story of a young hero who embarks on a quest to find the cause of a mysterious curse that has transformed the King and his daughter into monsters. Along the way, he meets a cast of colorful characters and battles a variety of monsters in classic turn-based battles. The game features a unique cel-shaded graphical style, and makes use of the 3DS's 3D capabilities to add depth to the game world. Players can also use the StreetPass feature to exchange items and battle each other. Dragon Quest VIII is a classic RPG that will please fans of the series and newcomers alike.
