Luigis Mansion 2 (Europe)(En, Fr, Ge, It, Es, Nl, Pt, Ru), known in Japan as Luigi Mansion 2: Dark Moon (ルイージマンション2 ダークムーン), is an action-adventure game developed by Next Level Games and published by Nintendo for the
Nintendo 3DS. The game is the sequel to the 2001 GameCube game Luigi's Mansion, and sees Luigi exploring multiple haunted mansions in search of the pieces of the Dark Moon. The game's core gameplay revolves around Luigi's use of a Poltergust 5000, a ghost-catching vacuum cleaner, to capture ghosts. Luigi must explore the various mansions, searching for ghosts, solving puzzles, and collecting money and other items. In addition to the main story mode, the game also features a multiplayer mode, called ScareScraper, where up to four players can work together to clear out a haunted building. Luigis Mansion 2 features a variety of new features, such as the ability to control Luigi using the 3DS's gyroscope, and the ability to use the Poltergust 5000 to interact with objects in the environment. The game also features new ghosts, new puzzles, and new boss fights. The game has been praised for its visuals, its use of the 3DS's hardware, and its fun, lighthearted atmosphere.
