Monster Hunter Generations (モンスターハンターX, Monsutā Hantā Ekusu) is an action role-playing game developed and published by Capcom for the Nintendo 3DS. It is the sixth installment in the Monster Hunter series and was released in Japan in November 2015, in North America in July 2016, and in Europe in August 2016. Players take on the role of a hunter, tasked with slaying or trapping monsters in a variety of habitats. The game features a variety of weapons, including swords, lances, hammers, bows, and guns, as well as a variety of armor sets to customize the player's character. Players must use their wits and strategies to hunt monsters, utilizing the environment and a variety of items and equipment. The game introduces several new features, such as the introduction of two new Hunting Styles, which alter the player's playstyle, and two new Hunter Arts, which are special abilities that can be used in battle. Additionally, players can now use the special Hunter Arts of their Felyne companions. Monster Hunter Generations also features a variety of online and local multiplayer options, allowing up to four players to hunt together. Players can join online lobbies to hunt with friends and strangers, or take on special online quests. The game also includes a variety of downloadable content, such as new monsters, weapons, and armor sets.
