Pokemon X (ポケットモンスターX Poketto Monsutā Ekkusu) is a role-playing video game developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 3DS. It is the sixth generation of the Pokemon video game series and is part of the fifth generation of the Pokemon franchise. The game was released in Japan in October 2013 and in the United States in November 2013. The game follows the traditional Pokemon formula of catching, training, and battling with Pokemon. The player's character is a young Pokemon Trainer who sets out on a journey to capture and train Pokemon and become the best Pokemon Trainer in the world. The game features a variety of new Pokemon, including the new legendary Pokemon Xerneas and Yveltal. The player can also explore the world of Kalos, a region based on France, and battle against other trainers. The game also includes a variety of new features, such as the new Fairy type, Mega Evolutions, and the new Pokemon-Amie feature, which allows players to interact with their Pokemon in a more intimate way.
