Pokemon Y (ポケットモンスター X) is a Japanese role-playing game developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 3DS. The game is the sixth installment in the main series of the Pokemon franchise and is the second in the series to be released on the 3DS. The game is set in the Kalos region, which is based on France, and features a variety of new Pokemon, as well as some returning favorites. The game features a new battle system, with new features such as Mega Evolution and Fairy-type Pokemon. Players take on the role of a Pokemon Trainer, who is tasked with capturing, training, and battling with Pokemon to become the Pokemon Champion. Players can also explore the world of Kalos, encountering wild Pokemon, challenging other Pokemon Trainers, and participating in various activities such as the Pokemon-Amie minigame. Pokemon Y also allows players to connect with other players online, allowing them to battle and trade with each other.
