プロフェッサー・レイトンと不思議な仮面 (Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask) is a puzzle video game developed by Level-5 and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 3DS. It is the fifth installment in the Professor Layton series, and the first game in the series to be released for the 3DS. The game follows Professor Layton and his assistant Luke as they investigate the mysterious 'Masked Gentleman' who is using masks to transform the city of Monte d'Or into a living nightmare. Players must solve a variety of puzzles to progress through the story, with rewards for solving puzzles including in-game items and bonus puzzles. The game also features 3D visuals, a new hint system, and a variety of minigames. Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask was released in Japan in February 2012, and in Europe and North America in October 2012.
