Rayman Origins (Japanese title: レイマンオリジンズ) is a 2011 platform video game developed and published by Ubisoft for the Nintendo 3DS. It is the fourth main title in the Rayman series and the first main entry since Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc in 2003. The game follows the adventures of Rayman, a limbless hero, and his friends as they fight to save the Glade of Dreams from an invasion of dark creatures. Players control Rayman and up to three of his friends as they traverse a variety of levels, defeating enemies and collecting Lums (the game's currency). The game features a cartoon-like art style and is noted for its vibrant visuals and challenging, yet accessible gameplay. Rayman Origins also features a variety of minigames and bonus levels, as well as local and online multiplayer modes. The game was met with critical acclaim upon release and has sold over 1.5 million copies worldwide.
