The game is the fourth installment in the Super Smash Bros. series, and was released in Japan in September 2014, and in North America, Europe, and Australia in October 2014. The game features a wide variety of characters from various Nintendo franchises, including Mario, Link, Samus Aran, Kirby, and Pikachu, as well as characters from third-party franchises, such as Mega Man and Pac-Man. The game also features a variety of single-player and multiplayer modes, including a new mode called Smash Run, which allows up to four players to explore a randomly generated stage and compete in various challenges. Additionally, the game features a variety of new items, stages, and music tracks, as well as a new feature called amiibo, which allows players to use real-world figures to unlock content in the game.
