Banjo-Kazooie (Japanese title: バンジョーとカズーイの大冒険) is a platform video game developed by Rare and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64 in 1998. It follows the story of a bear named Banjo and a bird named Kazooie as they set out to stop the plans of the witch Gruntilda. Players must explore a 3D world, collect items, and solve puzzles to progress. The game features nine levels, each with its own unique theme. The player must traverse the levels, collecting items such as jigsaw pieces, music notes, and magical eggs, while defeating enemies and solving puzzles. The game also features various minigames and boss battles. The game has a two-player cooperative mode, allowing two players to play the game together. Banjo-Kazooie was highly acclaimed upon release, and is considered one of the best games of its time. It was praised for its vibrant graphics, detailed world, and engaging gameplay. The game spawned a sequel, Banjo-Tooie, and a spiritual successor, Yooka-Laylee.
