Castlevania (known as Akumajō Dracula X: Chi no Rondo (悪魔城ドラキュラX ～血の輪廻～) in Japan) is a platform-adventure video game released for the Nintendo 64 by Konami in 1999. It is the sixth installment in the Castlevania series. The game follows the adventures of Reinhardt Schneider, a descendant of the Belmont clan, as he attempts to destroy Dracula and save the world from his evil. The game combines elements of platforming, action-adventure, and role-playing genres, and features 3D graphics, multiple levels, and an expansive inventory system. Players must traverse through a variety of environments, fighting enemies and collecting items, in order to reach and defeat Dracula. The game also features a two-player cooperative mode, allowing two players to join forces and battle through the levels together. Castlevania is considered to be one of the best entries in the series and has been praised for its graphics, sound, and gameplay.
