Donkey Kong 64 (Japanese title: ドンキーコング64) is a 3D platform game developed by Rare and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64 in 1999. It is the sequel to the Donkey Kong Country trilogy, and the first 3D Donkey Kong game. The game follows the adventures of Donkey Kong and his friends as they explore a mysterious island and battle the evil King K. Rool. Players take control of Donkey Kong and four other Kongs as they explore the island, battle enemies, and collect items. The game features a variety of levels, including underwater, jungle, and factory levels. Donkey Kong 64 also features several minigames and puzzles, as well as a two-player mode. The game was well-received by critics, who praised its visuals, level design, and soundtrack.
