Perfect Dark (Europe) (Debug Version) (2000-04-26) (Japanese: パーフェクトダーク) is a first-person shooter video game developed by Rare for the Nintendo 64. It is the spiritual successor to Rare's earlier first-person shooter, GoldenEye 007. In the game, players take on the role of Joanna Dark, an undercover agent for the Carrington Institute, as she attempts to uncover a sinister conspiracy. The game features a variety of weapons and gadgets, as well as a number of multiplayer modes. The Debug Version of the game was released in Europe in April 2000, and features a number of additional features such as debug menus, cheat codes, and a level editor. The game was well received by critics and was praised for its graphics, sound, and gameplay. It was also a commercial success, selling over two million copies worldwide.
