Ready 2 Rumble Boxing is a boxing video game developed by Midway Games and published by Acclaim Entertainment for the Nintendo 64 in 1999. The game was released in Japan as Ready 2 Rumble Boxing: Round 2 (レディ・ツー・ランブルボクシングラウンド2). It is the first in the Ready 2 Rumble series, followed by Ready 2 Rumble Boxing: Round 2 and Ready 2 Rumble Revolution. Ready 2 Rumble Boxing is a 3D boxing game which features a variety of characters, each with their own unique attributes and boxing styles. The game features a single-player career mode, in which the player must progress through the ranks of the boxing world, and a two-player mode in which two players can compete against each other. The game also features a variety of bonus rounds, such as a ring-girl dance-off and a punching bag round. The game features an innovative Rumble Pak controller, which vibrates during the game to simulate a fighter getting punched. The Rumble Pak also allows players to perform special moves, such as uppercuts and knockout punches. The game also features a variety of special moves, such as the 'Rumble Flurry' and the 'Rumble Rush'. Ready 2 Rumble Boxing was well-received by critics, who praised its innovative gameplay, graphics and sound. The game was also a commercial success, selling over one million copies worldwide. The game spawned a successful series of sequels, and was followed by Ready 2 Rumble Boxing: Round 2 and Ready 2 Rumble Revolution.
