Space Invaders (USA) (Japanese: スペースインベーダー), released in 1996, is a classic arcade-style shooter game for the Nintendo 64. Developed by Taito and published by Nintendo, the game is based on the classic 1978 arcade game Space Invaders. In the game, players take control of a space ship and battle wave after wave of alien invaders. The objective of the game is to destroy all the aliens before they reach the bottom of the screen. Players have a limited number of lives and must use their ship's weapons to shoot down the aliens.
