StarCraft 64 (Germany) (Proto) is a real-time strategy video game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64 console. The Japanese title of the game is スタークラフト64 (Sutākurafuto Rokujūyon). It was released exclusively in Germany in 2000. The game is based on the original StarCraft, a popular PC game released in 1998. StarCraft 64 is a port of the original game, with minor changes to the interface and graphics to fit the console. The game follows the same story as the original, with the player taking control of one of three races - the Terrans, the Zerg, and the Protoss - and fighting for control of a distant star system. The game features a single-player campaign, as well as a variety of multiplayer modes. StarCraft 64 was well received by critics, who praised its graphics and gameplay, but criticized its lack of content compared to the original game.
