Yoshi Story (Japan) (ヨッシーストーリー) is a platforming game released for the Nintendo 64 in 1998. Developed by Nintendo EAD and HAL Laboratory, it was the first game in the Yoshi series to appear on a home console. The game follows Yoshi, the titular character, on his quest to restore the Super Happy Tree, which has been drained of its color by Baby Bowser. Players take control of Yoshi as they run, jump, and flutter jump their way through six worlds, each with four levels. Along the way, they must collect coins, defeat enemies, and find hidden items. The game also features a variety of mini-games, such as a Yoshi-themed version of Whack-a-Mole. Yoshi Story's art style is unique and has a distinct charm. The characters and environments are rendered in a bright, colorful, and cartoonish style. The game also features a variety of music, some of which was composed by the legendary Koji Kondo.
