Front Mission (フロントミッション) is a tactical role-playing game developed and published by Square Enix for the Nintendo DS. It is the seventh installment in the Front Mission series and the first to be released on a handheld platform. The game takes place in the fictional country of Oceania and follows the story of two warring nations, the Oceania Cooperative Union (OCU) and the United States of the New Continent (USN). Players take control of a squad of customizable combat mechs called 'wanzers' and battle their way through a variety of missions. The game features a variety of weapons and wanzers to choose from, as well as a strategic turn-based combat system. Players must make use of terrain, cover, and their wanzer's abilities in order to complete their objectives. Front Mission also features a story-driven campaign, as well as a multiplayer mode. Front Mission is an engaging and challenging tactical game that offers a unique experience on the Nintendo DS.
