In Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games, players are able to choose one of two paths in order to get through the gamesalties. First, players take part in a final game against a against a computer, or they can choose to enter the Olympic Games through a online game. In the online game, players must work together in order to get to the last game, which will determine the team's place in the game. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games2 takes the game in a different path, with players able to compete in the Olympics in their own time. Along the way, players will learn about the different Olympic sport groups and teams, as well as the Olympic athletes who will be compete in the games.
