In Nihon Curling Kyoukai Kounin - Minna no DS Curling, the player takes on the role of a new Curling Game player in the Oiima region. Through the different courses of the Curling, which is a new game in the series, the player will get better at curling those large, heavy puckers, along with the help of his or her partner, who must use all of their skills to get the puck to the back of the net. The player's partner, who is a girl, helps the player hold onto the puck and keep it within the goal, as well as hit passing goals to the game's end. The game is set up like a real curling match, with goals and shots being scored in real-time as the player progresses. There are special waves of enemies, which are caused by the player's partner, in each course, as well as multiple ways to get through the waves, including using speed and strength. In order to win a game, the player must score a goal that is within the goal set by their partner. If the player fails to score the goal needed, or if their partner fails to hit the goal needed, then they must replace their partner, and the game is over. If both players score a goal each, then the game is lost. If two players have the same number of goals, the player with the more points is won.
