In Professor Layton and Pandora's Box, you are a student at a prestigious university who is in search of the answer to a mystery from long ago. The game is described as 'adventureiblings' with 'primary career' and 'secondary career' focuses. In this game, you and your team of explorers travel to various different locations, explore every room, and face every kind of monster. Each mission involves exploring a new environment, fighting off monsters, and completing quests. Sometimes, you must help characters from the past time work on a project; other times, you must stop a powerful monster from entering the present. Your team includes Layton, the Ein Sof from the future, and hisubs, which are magical creatures that can fly and are Supposed to be very powerful, but they later become just enough help to stop a main character from becoming a monster.
