In Tetris DS, players are able to compete against each other in-game by posting pieces of Tetris data as fast as they can post them. The more pieces of Tetris that are posted, the player will get to keep the piece of Tetris they post. There are different modes to keep the player entertained, such as friendly rounds in which players help each other reach the top of the list, as well as grand rounds where everyone gets to top off the list. There is also a special mode where everyone posts their own piece of Tetris, and the player with the piece they post first, will get to keep it.
