Nintendo DS. It is a2-dimensional,, and inspired by the old game TREasures ofahead of it. In Treasures of Montezuma, the players take the role of a small group of, each of whom has its own adventure. Each level is broken down into series of interconnected scenes, each of which must be accessed before other scenes can be reached. The gameplay is relatively simple: the player controls one or two players with a three-button control layout. There are several different tools at the player's disposal, including health packs, arrows, and of course, the DS's favorite tool, the TV. TV's are a secondary way of gaining points, but are also easily missed. Each scene is worth a certain amount, which depends on how many are completed in a level. If two scenes are completed in one level, the player gains a point. If three scenes are completed in one level, the player gains a point. If four scenes are completed in one level, the player gains a point. If five scenes are completed in one level, the player gains a point. If six scenes are completed in one level, the player gains a point. If seven scenes are completed in one level, the player gains a point. If eight scenes are completed in one level, the player gains a point. If nine scenes are completed in one level, the player gains a point. If ten scenes are completed in one level, the player gain a point. If multiple scenes are completed in a level, the player gains a point. If the player has all items in their possession, they can select one of the scene areas to which they are connection. If the connection is to a new scene, that new scene is $10,000 richer.
