NHL '94 is a professional ice hockey game developed by Electronic Arts and published by EA Sports. It is a sequel to NHL '93, and is the first game in the NHL '94 series. The game was released in October 1994 for the Sega Genesis. The game features a new, more detailed ice surface and a revised control system, making it the most realistic hockey game to date. NHL '94 also features a new team, the Carolina Hurricanes, and a new player, Mario Lemieux.
