SG-1: The Stargate is a video game for the Sega Genesis. It is a space-themed action game, set in the fictional Stargate universe. Players play as SG-1, a team of Earth-based SG-1 members, against an alien force led by the villain, the Goa'uld, in a series of single-player levels. The game was developed by British game developer 4A Games, who also created the original Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope video game for the Genesis. SG-1 was published by Electronic Arts, and was released in Europe in November 1990. SG-1 was one of the first video games ever released on the Genesis, and it is one of the most well-known and popular Genesis games. The game has been ported to several other platforms, including the PlayStation, Xbox, and Game Boy.
