It is a sequel to the 1983 arcade game Super Mario World and the first game in the Super Mario series. The player controls a character, called the 'Dragon Knight', as they fight against enemies and obstacles in a variety of arenas. The game features a unique control scheme which allows the player to move the Dragon Knight's arms and legs in addition to their head and body.
