The game is a sequel to the 1984 game Earthworm Jim. Earthworm Jim 2 is a side-scrolling, platform game where the player controls Jim, a greenworm, as he travels through a variety of landscapes tocollect food and defeat enemies. The game features a new platforming mechanic in which Jim can cling onto ledges and obstacles to stay afloat, and he can also jump. Jim can also use his tentacles to grab food and enemies, and he can fire fireballs from his mouth. The game received mixed reviews from critics. However, it remains one of the most popular Super Nintendo games.
