The Lord of the Rings is a series of fantasy novels written by J.R.R. Tolkien. The first volume, The Lord of the Rings, was published in 1954 and the last volume, The Return of the King, was published in 1973. The game, J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings - Volume One, is a role-playing video game developed and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment in Germany. The game is based on The Lord of the Rings novel, The Fellowship of the Ring, and the following novels, The Two Towers and The Return of the King. The game is a spiritual successor to the popular video game, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, and the following video game, The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. The game is available for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and the Super Nintendo Classic Edition.
