Super Nintendo game Mazinger Z is an action-adventure game developed and published by Bandai Namco. It was released in Japan on November 21, 1990 and in North America and Europe on December 3, 1990. It is the seventh installment in the Mazinger series and the first game in the Z series. The game is set in the future, and revolves around the protagonist, Mazinger Z, fighting powerful monsters called Z-Bots. The game features a unique control system in which the player must use a joystick and buttons to move Mazinger Z around the battlefield. The player can also use the Z-Bots as allies, and use them to defeat enemies. The game received mixed reviews from critics. However, it remains one of the most popular Super Nintendo games.
