Assassins Creed 1 is a 2010 action role-playing video game for the Xbox 360. Developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft, it is the first in the Assassin's Creed series, and the first game in the series to be developed in-house. It is set in the years of the French Revolution, and focuses on the plot of the game's protagonist, Ezio Auditore da Firenze, as he makes his way through the game's world, seeking to uncover the truth about the death of his mentor and sworn brother, Leonardo da Vinci. The game was released on October 25, 2010, in North America and on November 11, 2010, in Europe. It was met with critical acclaim, and became one of the best-selling video games of 2010.
