Borderlands 1 is an action-adventure video game released for the Xbox 360 on November 2, 2009. It is the first game in the Borderlands series, and is a sequel to the 2010 game Borderlands. The game is set in the world of Pandora, a moon of the sun-like planet Pandora. Borderlands 1 introduces four new characters: The Gunzerker, a gunslinger who can shoot through walls; The Shaman, a cleric who can use magic to heal and resurrect allies; The Ranger, a cowboy who can use his rifle to shoot enemies; and The Engineer, a scientist who can use his tools to improve the environment. The game also features a new co-operative multiplayer mode, The Compound, in which players team up to fight waves of enemies.
