Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker HD is an action-adventure game developed and published by Konami for the Xbox 360. The game is a spiritual successor to the 1990s arcade game Metal Gear Solid. It is set in the fictional Snake Eater Base on an unnamed planet, and is the first game in the Metal Gear Solid series to be released in HD resolution. The game follows the story of Solid Snake, a mercenary who is working for a secret organization known as The Patriots. He is sent to find and stop a plot by the military to take over the world. Along the way, he must defeat numerous enemies, including the evil Venom Snake, who is working for the military. The game features a variety of new and returning features, including an online multiplayer mode, a co-operative multiplayer mode, and a new story mode. It also includes a new singleplayer mode, which is called The Phantom Pain.
