Super Nintendo game Battle Cross is an action-adventure game for the Nintendo Entertainment System. The game was developed by Hudson Soft and published by Namco. It was released in Japan on October 15, 1990 and in North America on November 15, 1990. The game is a remake of the earlier Super Nintendo game Super Mario World. In Battle Cross, the player controls Mario, Luigi, and Wario as they take on enemies in a variety of battle arenas. The player can use items to help them, such as a bomb, and the player can also purchase power-ups from the store to help them in their quests. The game is scored by a system called the “A.I.” which awards points based on the number of lives the player has remaining. The game features a variety of different enemies and obstacles. Enemies include turtles, mushrooms, and other characters from the Mario and Luigi series. The obstacles include fences, platforms, and other obstacles that the player must jump over. The game also features a time-attack mode where the player must complete as many levels as possible in a set amount of time. The game was generally well-received by critics. The game was awarded a silver award from the video game review aggregator GameRankings.
