Star Fox 2 is an action-adventure game for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Developed by HAL Laboratory and published by Nintendo, it is the sequel to the original game, released in 1993. The game is set in an original Star Fox world, which has been redesigned for the sequel. The player controls either Fox or Falco as they travel through the galaxy, playing through different missions, fighting enemies and collecting rewards. The game features a variety of new features, including a co-operative multiplayer mode, which allows players to team up and take on foes. The multiplayer mode was later ported to the Gamecube and Wii. The game is also the first to use the Unreal Engine, which allows for high-resolution textures and lighting. The game was also the first to be released in Japan in CD-ROM format.
