F-Zero X (Japanese: エフゼロX) is a futuristic racing game developed by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64. The game was released in 1998 in Japan and 1999 in North America and Europe. It is the sequel to the original F-Zero, released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. The game is set in the year 2560, where players race on hovercrafts called “F-Zero machines” on tracks located in different galaxies. The game features 30 tracks, split into 10 cups, with each cup containing three tracks. The game also features a “Death Race” mode, in which the player must complete a lap within a certain time limit while avoiding obstacles and other racers. The game also has a “Time Attack” mode, in which the player must complete a lap as fast as possible. F-Zero X features four difficulty levels, ranging from easy to expert. The game also features a “Random” setting, in which the game randomly selects the track and difficulty level. The game also features a “Ghost” mode, in which the player can race against a “ghost” of their own lap time. F-Zero X also features a two-player split-screen mode, in which two players can race against each other on the same track. The game also features a “Multiplayer” mode, in which four players can race against each other on the same track.
