Pokemon Snap (Japanese: ポケモンスナップ, Pokemon Sunappu) is an on-rails photography-based video game developed by HAL Laboratory and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64 console in 1999. The game follows the player character, a young photographer named Todd Snap, as he travels around the fictional Pokemon Island, taking photographs of various wild Pokemon. The player's goal is to take the best possible photos of the Pokemon, which are then rated by Professor Oak. The higher the rating, the more points the player earns, which can be used to unlock new levels and items. The game also features various mini-games and secret levels. The game was well-received by critics, and has since become a cult classic.
