Resident Evil 2 (Biohazard 2 in Japan) is a survival horror game released for the Nintendo 64 in 1998. Developed and published by Capcom, it is the sequel to the 1996 game Resident Evil and the second installment in the Resident Evil series. The story follows Leon S. Kennedy, a rookie police officer, and Claire Redfield, a college student, as they attempt to escape the zombie-infested Raccoon City. Players must explore the city, solve puzzles, and fight off hordes of zombies in order to progress in the game. The game features improved graphics and sound compared to its predecessor, as well as a more detailed storyline. Resident Evil 2 also introduces the series' iconic 'Zapping System', which allows players to experience the story from two different perspectives. Resident Evil 2 is widely considered to be one of the best games in the series and has been praised for its horror atmosphere, intense action, and engaging storyline.
